At the 2007 International Society of Refractive Surgeries meeting in New Orleans, Dr. Randy Epstein gave a lecture entitled “Current Advances in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Anterior Chamber Epithelial Ingrowth”. At the annual meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology he participated as a lab instructor in the course “Management of Astigmatism with Cataract Surgery” and was a co-author of a paper entitled “Mitomycin-C for the Prevention of Corneal Haze Following PRK”.

“Prosthetic Contact Lenses: changing the way our patients see and the way we see them” at the American Academy of Optometry meeting in Tampa, FL. This lecture discussed the fitting process involved in tinted, therapeutic contact lenses. Maria Rosselson grew up in the West Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago before moving to Buffalo Grove, Illinois, where she graduated from Stevenson High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, double-majoring in Psychology and Spanish Language. She received her M.D. from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Chicago. She completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the St. Louis University Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri, and her Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, where she was trained as a comprehensive ophthalmologist.
Dr. Rosselson has a particular interest in glaucoma diagnosis and treatment, as well as cataract/anterior segment surgery. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Rosselson is fluent in both Russian and Spanish. In her spare time she enjoys cooking with her husband Ben, an Emergency Medicine physician, as well as running, visiting art galleries, reading fiction, and world travel.

Dr. Epstein has been a leading authority on Acanthamoeba keratitis for many years, dating back to his experience with patients during the initial epidemic of 1986, when he did collaborative work with the CDC in Atlanta. He has treated many patients with this dreaded, usually contact lens-related infection over the years.
