Dr. Blasco attended the University of Iowa for his undergraduate studies and went on to obtain his Doctorate of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry, graduating with summa cum laude honors. Following graduation, he completed a residency through the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins.

Dr. Blasco's Biography

Dr. Blasco spent eight years practicing comprehensive medical optometry in his hometown of Des Moines, Iowa. He has advanced training in treating various ocular conditions including macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye disease, and diabetic eye disease. He has experience in fitting specialty contact lenses for patients with keratoconus and other post-surgical corneas. He has a passion for delivering exceptional care to his patients; helping them achieve their best vision possible for whatever visual demands they may have.

Dr. Blasco is an advocate in promoting proper eye health through preventative vision examinations, diet, exercise, and nutritional supplementation.

Dr. Blasco is a member of the American Optometric Association, Illinois Optometric Association, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He actively serves as a resource to students through the Illinois College of Optometry Mentorship Program.
